For eveningwear ladies often wore full length maxi dresses, evening trousers or glamorous halter neck catsuits. Some of the dresses oozed Motown glamour, others less so.

Many of the foods we eat have been affected by pollution in the soil and aren’t very healthy to eat. Human oversight and neglect are the primary causes to the soil pollution we have now. Chemical substances are stored in tanks and buried underground which ends up seeping and getting into the soil. Chemicals seep into the ground from a variety of sources, such as landfills. In the past garbage from corporations and individuals was dumped in landfills, that did hardly any to safeguard the land. This would be bad enough if it stayed right there, but underground the water can flow anywhere, taking the nasty chemicals with it. At least landfills are today doing many things to safeguard the soil from the more deadly chemicals, such as putting them in separate areas that have been lined with protective substances.

The use of inorganic pesticides and the effects on soil and wildlife have been extensively recorded. A lot of environmental associations are lobbying the government to keep the soil from dangerous chemicals. With the rise in organic farming and rigid laws for some pesticides, there is a chance that the soil quality will improve. Producers are initiating changes at the same time like using biodegradable material. The country with a lot of major problem is the United States. Improvements in technology and disregard for the environment are the major reasons of the polluted soil.

Many people are starting to be aware of soil pollution and are making efforts to lessen it. A number of programs in the United States are trying to find ways to lessen the soil pollution. As people start to do more organic gardening and are being more mindful about their health, there is a very good chance that the problem with pollution in our soil can be solved.
